In the event of the temporary closure of individual classes and year groups due to a positive case or cases of COVID 19, or the isolation of individual children, remote learning will commence online the next working day.
Our aim is for pupils to access the full curriculum learning for their year group using the Seesaw online platform.
NB In the event of the closure of schools during a ‘lockdown’ period determined by the government, where only children of keyworkers and vulnerable children can attend school, daily additional live teaching input will be included as part of our remote home learning offer.
Please understand that where the partial reopening of school to specific year groups as well as keyworker and vulnerable children commence, live teaching input may well have to cease if all teachers are required to teach in school.
For children with additional needs, the closure of school and switch to online learning can be challenging, particularly for those children who rely upon a consistent routine.
For those children with the most complex needs who have an Education, Health & Care Plan (EHCP), they may been offered the opportunity to continue learning in school if it is identified and agreed that the child is vulnerable and far better off being in school than at home – this can be on a full or part-time basis. Children who remain at home will still be supported and their learning catered for remotely by their class teacher, identified support staff and the school SENCo.
