Eco School

We are passionate at St John’s, about looking after the world we live in – not only maintaining and sustaining but improving too.

We are active members of the Eco-Schools programme and in June 2019, were awarded their internationally recognised Green Flag award.

Eco Council

We have a very active Eco Council that meets a couple of times a term to see what we are doing, what else we could do and to look at the impact of current activities. Pupils are encouraged to share their ideas which the Eco Council can then take forward throughout the school.

We work hard to not only be more caring and aware of the environment, but to teach the children the reasons why we are doing it – to ensure species survive, global warming and the effects if we carry on as we are.
