Interactive Prayer Tree

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6-7

Our central prayer space at St John's

Our prayer tree is an interactive mural for the use of all stakeholders.

Prayers are grouped into three main types;
Red Leaf – prayers for ourselves, friends, family and colleagues.
Gold Leaf- prayers for those around the world who are unknown to us.
Green Leaf- prayers for the wonders of God’s creation.

The mural itself features our four core Christion values which help us ’live out’ our vision. Within the roots of the tree, Christian symbols are featured to stimulate discussion, thought and to remind us that as a school we are ‘rooted’ in Christian theology and the teachings of Jesus.
The last line of our vision arcs across the tree mural, reminding us that through developing our spirituality through reflection and prayer we can ‘Grow beyond all we can imagine’.

Using the Prayer Tree

The Prayer Tree at St John's is constantly changing as new prayers are written by the school community. Below are just some examples of the tree being used by our pupils and a selection of prayers written.
